چکیده

Given a simple undirected graph, the minimum connected dominating set problem is to find a minimum cardinality subset of vertices D inducing a connected subgraph such that each vertex outside D has at least one neighbor in D. Approximations of minimum connected dominating sets are often used to represent a virtual routing backbone in wireless networks. This paper first proposes a constant-ratio approximation algorithm for the minimum connected dominating set problem in unit ball graphs and then introduces and studies the edge-weighted bottleneck connected dominating set problem, which seeks a minimum edge weight in the graph such that the corresponding bottleneck subgraph has a connected dominating set of size k. In wireless network applications this problem can be used to determine an optimal transmission range for a network with a predefined size of the virtual backbone. We show that the problem is hard to approximate within a factor better than 2 in graphs whose edge weights satisfy the triangle inequality and provide a 3-approximation algorithm for such graphs.

Domination and Signed Domination Number of Cayley Graphs

In this paper, we investigate domination number as well as signed domination numbers of Cay(G : S) for all cyclic group G of order n, where n in {p^m; pq} and S = { a^i : i in B(1; n)}. We also introduce some families of connected regular graphs gamma such that gamma_S(Gamma) in {2,3,4,5 }.

TOTAL DOMINATION POLYNOMIAL OF GRAPHS FROM PRIMARY SUBGRAPHS

Let $G = (V, E)$ be a simple graph of order $n$. The total dominating set is a subset $D$ of $V$ that every vertex of $V$ is adjacent to some vertices of $D$. The total domination number of $G$ is equal to minimum cardinality of total dominating set in $G$ and denoted by $gamma_t(G)$. The total domination polynomial of $G$ is the polynomial $D_t(G,x)=sum d_t(G,i)$, where $d_t(G,i)$ is the numbe...

Paired-Domination Game Played in Graphs

In this paper, we continue the study of the domination game in graphs introduced by Bre{v{s}}ar, Klav{v{z}}ar, and Rall. We study the paired-domination version of the domination game which adds a matching dimension to the game. This game is played on a graph $G$ by two players, named Dominator and Pairer. They alternately take turns choosing vertices of $G$ such that each vertex chosen by Domin...

Connected domination in fuzzy graphs using strong arcs

Abstract. In this paper, connected domination in fuzzy graphs using strong arcs is introduced. The strong connected domination number of different classes of fuzzy graphs is obtained. An upper bound for the strong connected domination number of fuzzy graphs is obtained. Strong connected domination in fuzzy trees is studied. It is established that the set of fuzzy cut nodes of a fuzzy tree is a ...

Parallel Algorithms for Connected Domination Problem on Interval and Circular-arc Graphs

A connected domination set of a graph is a set of vertices such that every vertex not in is adjacent to and the induced subgraph of is connected. The minimum connected domination set of a graph is the connected domination set with the minimum number of vertices. In this paper, we propose parallel algorithms for finding the minimum connected domination set of interval graphs and circular-arc gra...
